YOUR EXPERIENCE

Learn about the history of the award-winning City Theatre and its five historic buildings. You’ll have the rare chance to experience a behind the scenes look at the Mainstage building, Lillie Theatre and Chosky Production Center!

ABOUT THIS BUILDING

City Theatre's Southside campus consists of 5 buildings featuring our historic Mainstage and Lillie Theatre's. Our 100 seat, black box Lillie Theatre was the original home of the Bingham Street Methodist Episcopal Church and was constructed in the mid 1830's. As the congregation grew, the larger church was built in 1859 and remained an active church until 1990. City Theatre purchased both buildings in 1991 and converted the main building to our current 250 seat Mainstage Theatre.
