YOUR EXPERIENCE
You won't be disappointed when you stop here and meet the founder of Strange Roots, Dennis, one of Millvale's most infectious citizens! Learn all about the building from him, a local kid (born and raised) whose family settled Millvale before the US became a country. And be sure to snap a pic in front of the full-scale wall murals inside!
ABOUT THIS BUILDING
The building was built pre-1950, however the actual construction year is unknown. It was originally a service station for the Millvale 3 Trolley, which is why the address is E. Ohio Street. The Trolley service stopped in approximately 1952 and the building later became a gas station/garage. Since that time, the building transitioned through different build outs for the previous businesses, including a bagel & coffee drive through and an ice cream shop. After the flood caused by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, the building sat vacant until 2010, when a local dreamer started a brewery focused on the local micro-environment.
