YOUR EXPERIENCE

Tour the interior of one of the most popular venues on the Pittsburgh live music scene, and in the region, for that matter. You'll be amazed at the sheer size and variety of rooms; the history, the atmosphere, as well as the number of performance spaces both intimate and large. Come see the crew set up the ring for the evening's Enjoy Wrestling, professional wrestling event, and imagine some of your favorite musical acts gracing the impressive theatre stage.

ABOUT THIS BUILDING

Within the beautifully repurposed former 18th century Catholic church lives Mr. Smalls Theatre, Pittsburgh’s premier music venue and the anchor of the Millvale entertainment hub. Built in 1924 and once belonging to the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh as the site of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the building was purchased in 2000 by current owners (and married couple) Mike Speranzo and Liz Berlin. Together, they founded Mr. Smalls in 2002. The 800-guest capacity theatre boasts a spacious yet intimate design featuring 40ft high ceilings, hardwood floors, custom acoustic reinforcements for superb sound, a spacious monitor room/staging area for artists, a 25x26x3 stage as well as professional PA and lighting systems.

Upstairs from the Theatre can be found, The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls; a 200 capacity, great sounding room, with a focus on local, and regionally touring bands. It’s a cozy space with again, state of the art sound reinforcement, managed by professional sound engineers.

Last but not least, located in the basement, Mr. Smalls Café is perhaps the coziest of all the spaces within this massive entertainment destination. Open from Thurs to Sat during the day, and for all Theatre shows at night, you can find myriad coffees and adult beverages, as well as tasty snacks for sale. It’s also where your tour of this especially unique establishment begins.
