ABOUT THIS BUILDING
Eighth & Penn is an assemblage of historic preservation and new construction apartments in the Cultural District. The existing buildings on Penn Avenue have been lovingly restored to the Secretary of Interior’s standards for historic restoration, while the former parking lots immediately east and north of the buildings have been replaced with new construction that melds the old with the new.
Collectively Eighth & Penn features a mix of historic restoration and new modern apartments-140 in all, ranging from studio lofts on the ground floor to a three-bedroom, two-story luxury apartment located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The building also features 12,000 square feet of restaurants and retail, including The Eagle food and beer hall, Pure Barre’s only Downtown location for full body workouts, and Adda Bazaar’s newest coffee and tea house. The Sky Bridge connects the copper-clad “Jewel Box” building to the rest of the building over a grand pedestrian passageway below, which itself connects the Cultural Trust’s “Backyard” to The Oasis and Katz Plaza beyond.
NOTE: Participating buildings and event hours for each subject to change; please check the website regularly for any updates.
