Enjoy the springtime Chatham arboretum, learn about industrialists who supported the founding of the Pennsylvania Female College (now Chatham University), and step inside the former home of A.W. Mellon, former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury as we explore the history of Chatham University with Chatham Archivist Molly Tighe. Participants will be presented with material from the Chatham University Archives that emphasizes connections to past occupants of Woodland Road’s most iconic homes and highlights the beauty of the Chatham campus.
TOUR HOST BIO:
As an Archivist, Molly Tighe manages all aspects of the Chatham University’s Archives and Special Collections including acquiring, cataloging, and preserving documentation of the university with long-term historical and cultural value. Molly enjoys classical music and has a history of sneaking into libraries.
