Strip District Celebrates Historical Treasures & Business Renaissance

August 1, 12pm – 4pm

Pittsburgh, PA—DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh, a local non-profit, invites the public to experience the Strip District as never before on Sunday, August 1, from 12pm – 4pm.

This self-guided neighborhood event will immerse visitors in the exciting transformation happening in the Strip District, while celebrating the storied past. Visitors will go behind-the-scenes, have a unique experience or just the opportunity to explore inside historic and reimagined buildings, and meet some of the personalities of the Strip District.

Inspired by the Strip District’s transformation from a small manufacturing neighborhood to one now powered by technology giants and one-of-a-kind startups, DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh selected this neighborhood as a follow up to its Homestead Neighborhood Event on June 26th.

“This curated event format gives people a reason to experience the Strip as never before. We invite the public to come and take advantage of this immersive experience to explore the buildings by going behind-the-scenes, have some unique access or simply be nebby. We encourage the public to interact with the stakeholders and personalities that the Strip is known for. This is really how you can begin to understand and appreciate the uniqueness of our individual neighborhoods” says Bonnie Baxter, Founder/Executive Director, DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:

Event goers will have the opportunity to:

1. Immerse themselves inside 13 buildings including spaces reimagined for work, artistry, worship and retail.

• Pittsburgh Public Ballet, The Terminal Penn Mac, St. Patrick's Church, Lotenero Art & Design and Penn 29, as examples -- for the complete list:
