Urging Pittsburghers to Embrace Their Nebbiness!

August 1, 12pm – 4pm

PITTSBURGH, September 8th - DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh presents the 6th Annual Event on Saturday, October 2nd (10am – 4pm).

DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh invites the public to see and experience like never before, providing behind-the-scenes access, unique experiences, or just the opportunity to explore a diverse collection of iconic buildings and newly designed spaces in Downtown Pittsburgh.

This year the event will present over 30 buildings for the public to access and explore at will for purposes of celebrating Pittsburgh architecture and heritage.

Buildings include churches, government offices, commercial residential, office space, hotels, theaters, galleries and more. New buildings are added every year.

Pittsburgh is one of 20+ US cities and European countries that host this innovative event.

“Now more than ever, we want to continue providing ways for people to feel connected to our city, and to each other. We believe that our buildings embody and reflect our hopes, dreams, struggles, and perseverance of a city and its individual communities. At DOORS OPEN we believe in celebrating what the past has gifted to us – these buildings – and have lots of fun doing so!” says Founder and Executive Director, Bonnie Baxter.

Reservations are not required to enter any participating building – simply show your event ticket for admittance.

Presented in an open-house format, guests are invited to visit as many buildings as they want and do so in any order that they want. As such, there is no chance of being forced into a large group of people.

“DOP 2020 is COVID-friendly because you can walk outside from one building to another, providing the opportunity to get some fresh air. Then once inside a building, we will only allow a certain number of guests in each building at a time to ensure the opportunity for social distancing. Most people spend typically 10-15 minutes inside a building, so mask-wearing should not be too cumbersome to enjoy this event,” says Baxter.

In addition, during the Annual Event, guided tours, called Insider Tours, will be offered -- led by local tour guides: https://doorsopenpgh.org/insider-tours-annual-event-2021/

This event is made possible by DOORS OPEN Pittsburgh (a 5013c non-profit organization) and the generous support of event sponsors Dollar Bank, Koppers Inc, and other sponsors including AI. Neyer, Bernstein & Berkley Law, and the AIA, well as our ticketholders and donors.

Tickets on-sale now through event day.

Tickets are $15 for general admission ($10 for Seniors and $5-Free for Kids)

Tickets are ONLY available online.
