Join MCF Architecture on the 16th floor and walk through the history of The Frick Building & other notable buildings seen from the skyline. Hear fabled stories of the people and events that created the Downtown we know today.
We will share drawings from our archives--you will learn about the creation of the Cultural District, including Heinz Hall & the Benedum, the history of Point State Park, and the Fort Pitt Museum, to name a few.
Meet MCF architects, who continue to preserve the history of Pittsburgh through notable projects such as the Wilkinsburg Train Station, Heinz Hall and the Carnegie Homestead Library.
Note: Building capacity due to COVID is 25 people at a time. Please be patient, as most people’s visit will be 10-15 minutes.
ABOUT THIS BUILDING
MCF is housed in the Frick Building — a prominent and identifiable landmark in Downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.
Henry Clay Frick, an entrepreneur and coke manufacturer who built a portfolio of commercial buildings in Pittsburgh, is the tower’s namesake. The structure is on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). On the site of the former Saint Peter Episcopal Church, the tower was built at the time directly adjacent to a building owned by Andrew Carnegie, who were fierce competitors.
