ABOUT THIS BUILDING
This building was constructed as a warehouse in 1902 by Richard McCready, who was a manufacturer of carpet weaving supplies and cotton yarn. In 1925, Peter and John Katsafanas moved their coffee roasting company to the building, then remodeled the front façade into its current art deco style and added the concrete lettering at the top of the building. They provided coffees and teas to numerous states, as far east as New York and Virginia and as far west as Indiana. The building was sold to the adjacent Harry Guckert Company family next door, and Q Development purchased the building in 2015.
