ABOUT THIS BUILDING
The studio activates two old row house buildings at 518 Foreland Street in the Deutschtown area of Pittsburgh’s Northside into one dynamic studio space. The space has been designed to allow it to support the creation and presentation of a broad range of artist’s projects. It’s hard to predict what exactly the space will look like at any moment, but it is well worth making repeat trips to see new work.

Other: As the organization continues to build a sustainable resource for Pittsburgh, it continues to work on making this adaptive structure on Pittsburgh’s Northside more accessible to the entire Pittsburgh community. Currently there is no elevator to the second floor, but first floor areas can be made accessible and AIR is constantly working on the challenges that come with adaptive re-uses of the architecture in Pittsburgh’s historic neighborhoods.
