YOUR EXPERIENCE

Visitors will experience a number of exciting aspects of Eighth & Penn. Entry through the lobby will highlight custom features created especially for Eighth & Penn by Monmade artisans, including a 3D ceramic printed wall by Building Bytes, an oversized sculptural metal clock hand by Transit Forge, and custom table by Brian Ferrell Designs. Enjoy the music emanating from the self-playing piano in the lobby before visiting the Sky Lounge and the 6,000 sf rooftop deck and a grand pedestrian passageway that connects Eighth Street to Katz Plaza, highlighted by the LED light installation SQR by renowned Austrian light artist Erwin Redl.

ABOUT THIS BUILDING

Eighth & Penn is an assemblage of historic preservation and new construction apartments in the Cultural District. The existing buildings on Penn Avenue have been lovingly restored to the Secretary of Interior’s standards for historic restoration while the former parking lots immediately east and north of the buildings have been replaced with new construction that melds the old with the new.

Collectively Eighth & Penn features 140 apartments, ranging from studio lofts on the ground floor to a 3 bedroom, two-story luxury apartment located on the second and third floors. The building also features 12,000 square feet of restaurants and retail, including The Eagle food and beer hall, Pure Barre’s only Downtown location for full body workouts, and Adda Bazaar’s newest coffee and teahouse.

Eighth & Penn features many unique elements, including a mix of historic restoration and new modern apartments, a Sky Lounge and the 6,000 sf rooftop deck. A two story LED light art installation encompasses the bridge that connects the copper-clad “Jewel Box” building to the rest of the building over a grand pedestrian passageway that will connects the Cultural Trust’s “Backyard” to The Oasis and Katz Plaza beyond.
