Building Description:

Penn Brewery is housed in the E&O building complex, originally home to three 19th-century breweries built by German immigrants.

The building complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and boasts many unique architectural features including an authentic cobblestone biergarten and a rare labyrinth of lagering caves built into the hillside to chill barrels of beer in the era before mechanical refrigeration became commonplace.

The buildings were given new life in 1989, when the modern-day Penn Brewery opened here.
