Smithfield Church was built in 1925-26 and was designated an historic landmark in 1976. It was designed by noted Pittsburgh architect Henry Hornbostel. In addition to the celebrated Rose Window, it features a series of ten stunning stained glass windows designed by the Von Gerichten Studios (Columbus, OH and Munich). The church has a cast stone exterior and is topped by an aluminum spire.
