James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy has a rich history of music, food & social importance. With a bar built during prohibition, to hosting the first interracial school dance & all the way to being the last top for the biggest names in jazz, James Street has seen it all.
Upon entering you will immediately see the original bar. In walking your way through this historical space, you will see original Speakeasy, where you can almost see the smoke and hear the whispers of a bygone era. Legends such as Roger Humphries, Mark Strickland, Etta Cox and Dwayne Dolphin have graced the stage along with an ever rotating cast of musicians from Pittsburgh and all over the country.
